Who was Dorothy Fields?
Dorothy Fields (1904-1974) was one of the great Broadway lyricists,
who wrote popular songs for revues, films and shows for nearly 50
years.
The hallmarks of her work are a touching simplicity of expression
and a gift for matching the rhythms of colloquial speech to music.
She wrote well over 400 songs.
